[SSBB Guide] [DACUS - Dash Attack Cancel Up Smash]
Chapter 1: What is DACUS?
DACUS is a combination of moves that can be used in many situations, and it is a first step to learning advanced techniques. DACUS stands for Dash Attack Cancel Up Smash. So basically, the character that is compatible with DACUS can slide and do an Up Smash at the same time.
Chapter 2: The characters that can perform DACUS
So far, here is a list of characters that can perform this advanced technique.
Snake
Sheik
Link
Falco
Wolf
JigglyPuff
Wario
Sonic
Chapter 3: What are the combination of keys I have to press, and what controller is this moveset compatible with?
The only controller's I heard that it's dealt with before are:
GameCube Controller (Easy)
Wiimote/Nunchuck (Difficulty depends)
For the GameCube Controller, start by Running left or Right. While you are moving, move you C-stick to the same direction as you are running. This creates the dash attack. A fraction of a second after doing that, press the Z button to cancel the dash attack and simultaneously do C-stick up. For me, it seems as though you are pressing these buttons at the same time, but it is almost at the same time.
For Wiimote/Nunchuck, you will need to adjust some settings. Go to the controller settings located in the setup/settings in your SSBB menu. Highlight and select the Wiimote/Nunchuck icon and edit the settings. Make sure you put "Shake Smash" to "ON". After doing so, head on back to SSBB menu, and head on over to Solo/Training. Choose Snake as a start because he is the easiest character to do the DACUS method with. Simply run to the left or right, and either shake the wiimote Up and Down, or shake it Down and Up.
WARNING: The Wiimote/Nunchuck method is just a rumor. It may or may not work!
If you are still confused, I will post a video on it right here:
