when you get to places like your profile,
you get stuck there and can't get back to the home-page w/o typing the link. :/Participation points are pretty much a scale of how active you are. You get three points for posting a topic, and one for posting a reply. I believe you also get some for each day you're on the forum, and for sending PMs. I'm not sure though. You can buy things with your participation points:Ghasty33666vr wrote:What are participation points? :s

Re: Any feedback?
That's EXTREMELY weird. I see the navbar just fine. I'll try to fix this or maybe change the theme yet again. s:
Re: Any feedback?
that nav-bar above your post is local to threads only
unless you mean the dark gray bar with nothing on the left side... >.>
EDIT:
I see it.
it only flashes during page load.
yes it's the dark gray bar.
that's a forum issue...
monkeys don't know how to program for IE8
EDIT2:
I would complain to forumotion about this...
I'll only use FF for pages...
not a full out forum... (FF is slower than IE)
EDIT3:
can you edit the HTML??
maybe I can add monkey support for IE8...
can I apply for co-admin only for this??
(I can't do alot if I do become co-admin)
^ I didn't wanna be co-admin because I'm already co-ad of 4 other forums XD

Re: Any feedback?
So you don't think a new theme would help? Maybe a lighter theme; change up the navbar?
Re: Any feedback?
ok that works... (nav-bar shows up)
but I kinda wanted to stick with the dark theme
it was actually my colors
EDIT:
the forum also loads alot faster...
AND I have rounded corners! =o
here's someething to report to PB =D

Re: Any feedback?
Good. I actually didn't switch the theme, but I'm also looking for a dark theme, so I'll be on the look for one of those.
Re: Any feedback?
interesting layout :3
I like it :3
however, the thread is al the way to the left rather then centered... heh
I blame the original theme developers for being monkeys...
do you need the IE8 support detection code??
I have it on my forum for the BG image.
({background-image: url();} doesn't work with IE8, so I used an <img /> with browser detection)

Re: Any feedback?
Yeah, I know. But it's the only theme so far that actually has the topic icons working to some degree. x.x And if you really need that, I guess we could try to implent it. ouo
Re: Any feedback?
I see, that sux x_x
I don't think this one would be too hard to implament
you can edit the HTML right?? :3
EDIT:
the topic icons...
is that a catagory, board, or thread icon?? (in the board)

Re: Any feedback?
I actually don't think we can. I know we can edit the CSS stylesheet though (obviously), hence the glowing names. x.x
Re: Any feedback?
not sure if IE8 supports THAT type of glow >_>
(it supports glow through the microsoft filter)
^ PB supports that...
this glow works for the newer browsers right??
but yea, that sux >.<
that really sux...

Re: Any feedback?
IE8 is actually outdated. If you want to use IE, get 9 or 10.

Re: Any feedback?
my friend, you know very littlegskw wrote:IE8 is actually outdated. If you want to use IE, get 9 or 10.
the only good thing about IE9 is the support for HTML5
I use FF for that because it has better protection from website viruses.
so far, IE8 has the best protection of all the newer browsers.
also... to top things off, I use WinXP Black (a better OS than 7)
and I don't think 10 works on XP
don't even talk to me about chrome. :/
Google's line about "the safest browsing" is a joke
so yea...
I don't use virus software, and I don't feel like getting infected, so I stick with IE8
(why remove what you're supposed to be protected from)
^I'm so freakin ready to start building my own browser. >_<
to apply your terms to another thing,
the 4x3 screenres is also outdated, but yet we still support that >_>
EDIT not used to putting the [ /color] tags at the end when I post
(excluding sub-colors)

Re: Any feedback?
Hm, anyway, usually I know myself when there is a virus and when there is not.

Re: Any feedback?
believe me, it's not as easy to spot as one might think
not all viruses, especially rootkits, will give you any notice, or even appear in your processes.
some viruses even rewrite themselves as system files.
luckilly these are only encountered over the network or through installers.
I havn't seen an internet case of these yet.
I do use MalWare Bytes after running an installer to check for adware installations and remove them.
there's been quite a few occurences of forced adware installations...
so that's really all there is to worry about.
when it comes to the browser,
Cookies and JS can redirect adware sites to gain info from your compy and can install viruses.
Flash and JS content usually does the dirty work of installing programs w/o you knowing.
IE8 blocks what every other newer browser allows.
(IE9 is like IE8 (in settings) except it defaults to allowing the content rather than protecting you like IE8)
I've been using IE8 ever since I've hosted my blog page: http://tcll5850.blogspot.com
I know enough about it to pretty much garuntee you won't get infected from it
(it needs a few add-ons to block some of the newer stuff)
